First of all, the STEG aims to reinforcing the penetration of natural gas in the already served zones.

Second, to open the way at the new not yet served zones, in order to slacken the distribution network of natural gas on all social categories and to reduce the state's loads regarding compensation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

Within the framework of this programme of encouragement of use of natural gas the STEG aims at a Million subscribers in 2015, by the connection of 70 000 customers per year.
